A gentle touch, a warm smile, and in a flash your life is changed forever-you have been called to the ranks of the Domina Militum Arkana-the Lady Knights Arcane. It’s not a bad deal-you earn a wage, your work-life balance is respected, and your college is paid for. True, your attendance at the Domina Academy is mandatory once you are Transformed, and “Domina” is a bit of a misnomer-men are as welcome at the Academy as women; but the work is easy and rewarding. Or at least that’s what the advisors say. 

But something lurks in the hills around Austin, a vague and heady threat the ancient academy doesn’t acknowledge.

Set against the Central Texas college scene and the wild and rolling hills of the Hill Country, Like Redbuds in Spring is an exploration of strength, adulthood, and bonds against  the compelling pull of self-discovery and finding your own independence.
